Chamberlain College of Nursing is seeking Part-Time Clinical Instructors interested in teaching students in our Bachelors of Science in Nursing program studying at our North Brunswick, NJ campus. 

 

We are currently interviewing candidates, for the March 2018 session. This session runs February 25th - April 23rd. 

 

  • NR-442: Community Health - You will be mentoring students, while working with patients, in a clinical setting. Theory and concepts of community/public/global health utilizing levels of prevention are presented in this course. The public/community health nurse’s role as a partner with the community to shape conditions supportive of health is emphasized through application of the nursing process, beginning with the assessment of the community’s health, wellness needs and available resources.

As a clinical instructor you will be working with our BSN students, observing as the students are performing skills and assessments with patients on the floor. You will be working one 12 hour shift per week (7am-7pm) on-site at a clinical facility in the North Brunswick NJ area.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.

 

 

 

Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing is required. 
  • Professional Nurse licensure is required in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of two years experience within last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse. 
  • Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment.
