Opportunity at a Glance

The Manager, Student Services is responsible for supervising day to day operation of academic advising and the student finance process.  Assigns and oversees completion of daily workload and resolves student issues when they are escalated for special handling.  Acts as a subject matter expert for a team of student services advisors.


  • Leads day to day operations of the team to ensure efficient delivery of services to students in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
  • Monitors operations to ensure practices are in compliance with federal, state and accreditation and corporate regulations.
  • Evaluate the performance of SSAs, including monitoring phone and case quality and employee coaching and development. Ensures that team members know and understand their responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities.
  • Monitors team and individual performance.
  • Provides manager with tracking, reporting and assessment of outcomes.
  • Serves as  the escalation point for students as necessary. Responds to and resolves escalated student issues in a timely manner. Provides information regarding resolution to students and also to any employee involved in handling the student issue.
  • Evaluates and reviews current student service practices and processes. Develops and implements continuous improvement program for department.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of student service experience required, at least some of which should be in a supervisory capacity, to include academic advising, student finance or a combination.
  • Working knowledge of Title IV regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and customer service skills.
  • PC skills in Microsoft office, database and internet applications.
