Opportunity at a Glance

Federal Work Study student workers assist in various departments in helping students with general questions and concerns. Approved positions are any type of community tutoring and any work through campus partnership with the community, other than that of the positions of FWS Math Tutor and FWS Community America Reads.   All work performed must be in the context of assisting students. Location- DuPage County Health Department 


-Providing customer service for the general public

-Set up exam rooms

-Assist with taking vital signs

-Filing, copying, etc.

-Prepare charts

-Assist clients with hemoglobin, urinalysis, blood pressure, height and weight

-Assist clients through clinic flow

-Make reminder calls for appointments


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


- Must be an enrolled student within one of the Adtalem family of Institutes.


Must be FWS eligible

Minimum of 3.0 CGPA

Strong leadership skills

Ethical decision-making abilities

Excellent communication skills

Great organization skills

Good time management

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Completion of Fundamentals NR224 and Health Assessment NR304.
