Chamberlain College is seeking Part Time Online Visiting Professors interested in teaching students in our Pre-licensure program. We are currently seeking candidates for the March 2018 session. We prefer candidates that have an RN license in either Nevada, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, or a compact license for this specific course this session.

 

 

The specific course instruction under consideration is:

NR360 - Information Systems in Healthcare:

The use of electronic databases for clinical practice is the focus of

this course. Skills for asking clinical questions and finding the best

evidence to answer the questions are developed.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Chamberlain College of Nursing syllabus that follows a template established by the College, and which includes the course outcomes.
  • Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.

 

Qualifications

Requirements for this opportunity include:

  • MSN and BSN degree is required.
  • For the March 2018 session it is highly preferred to have an RN license in either Nevada, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, or a compact license. Please note that we are considering applicants with licensing in any state, however, applicants may be considered for future sessions if the license is not from the prefered state.
  • A minimum of 2 years didactic teaching experience is required, preferably in a pre-licensure program.
  • Subject matter teaching expertise in the area of informatics, EMR, or electronic data charting required.
  • Faculty must have outstanding communication skills and excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.

  • Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
  • Prior online higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
