Chamberlain University is pleased to announce a new opportunity for a Healthcare Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop curriculum for online degree programs in the field of healthcare for our College of Health Professions.


This is a unique, rewarding opportunity to help us design courses that will help Chamberlain students build the essential values, behaviors and knowledge base to enjoy successful careers in the healthcare profession.


Working closely with our Program Director, Instructional Designers and curriculum technology team, you will help draft a course outline, develop course objectives, prepare new course content, recommend learning activities, create project assignments, and develop grading rubrics.


We seek Subject Matter Experts for the following areas of instruction:


Leveraging Healthcare Marketing and Management in the Community


This course examines contemporary healthcare marketing principles designed to meet the healthcare consumer’s needs.  Students will evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare marketing tools, including advertising, social media, and market research data collection, and will review the impact of marketing on the community and create a marketing plan for a healthcare organization. Students will apply best practices of interpersonal communication and demonstrate effective oral and written business communication  skills.



As Course Developer/SME you may create:

  • New curriculum guide

  • Project, assignments, and/or labs
  • Grading policy
  • New course content
    • Introduction
    • Lectures
    • Discussion questions
    • Quizzes
    • Exams

  • Suggested onsite activities
  • Grading rubrics



You are encouraged to apply for this opportunity if you have:

  • A Master's degree in a healthcare-related discipline (public health, health services, healthcare administration/finance etc.) with 18 or more graduate credit hours in marketing, or a doctorate in Healthcare Administration or doctorate in Marketing, is required.
  • Experience developing graduate-level curriculum as an SME, course developer, or instructional designer is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a healthcare profession or marketing is required
  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing and navigating software programs, ideally within a higher education setting, and the capacity to adapt quickly to new technology are essential for success in this role
  • College/University teaching experience, especially online and/or at the graduate level (preferred)
