    Chamberlain University's online Master of Social Work (MSW) program prepares ethical and effective social workers who serve diverse populations and contribute to human well-being and social justice through teaching, scholarship, advocacy, and the commitment to advancing social work’s values and principles. 

     

    We are inviting applications for a full-time faculty position in our MSW program. Responsibilities include teaching, curriculum development, mentoring students, serves on department and college committees; participates in college and community service, and engages in academic scholarship. And, as a full-time faculty member, you will be expected to meet faculty outcomes each year as indicated in an annual Individual Performance Plan.

    Responsibilities

    • Takes responsibility for program outcomes by implementing the College’s philosophy, curriculum and course objectives through classroom, assignments, and service to the institution.
    • Develops curricular/teaching innovations in the annual preparation and revision of all assigned course(s).
    • Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads
    • Provides documented feedback to students on level of performance based on course outcomes
    • Provides student remediation within assigned courses
    • Operates with "Chamberlain Care".
    • Serves as a positive professional role model for students, assisting in their professional/social development
    • Serves as a professional role model for other faculty and staff in the areas of customer service, collaboration, scholarship, communication, excellence and general professionalism.
    • Demonstrates scholarship through the following activities: conducts research which focuses on teaching and/or student learning, has peer reviewed publications in scholarly works related to nursing education, or creates presentations and posters for professional audiences nationally.
    • Serves on Department and College committees
    • Chairing groups that contribute to preparation for accreditation visits
    • Gathering and analyzing data related to College Assessment Program
    • Actively participate in faculty mentoring program
    • Developing leadership skills through formal course work or continuing education
    • Participating in professional activities outside the College
    • Serving as course coordinator or Subject Matter Expert (SME)
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program (required) and a doctorate (PhD or DSW) in social work or related field (ABD candidates will be considered)
    • Minimum of two years post-MSW experience in social work: micro, mezzo, or macro practice
    • A minimum of two years teaching experience at at the rank of instructor or higher.
    • Previous online teaching experience
    • Applicants with experience in curriculum development and assessment will be highly considered
    • Potential for effectiveness in scholarly productivity as well as in teaching within a highly diverse environment
    • Excellent communication skills along with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment
    • Must meet all compliance requirements as specified in the Faculty Handbook
