    The Associate Dean of General Education directs and provides leadership for all campus level Liberal Arts & Science (LAS) faculty to ensure faculty and curricula are current and consistently delivered in an environment and manner that achieves superior student outcomes. Depending on the location, the AD-LAS may have an instructional workload ranging from 12 to 38 credits per academic year.



    • Serve as a role model and mentor LAS faculty and students in areas of academic and service excellence, collaboration, communication and professionalism
    • Conduct classroom, lab and Learning Management Systems (LMS) observations
    • Serve as a liaison between campus LAS faculty and national Chamberlain University leadership on matters related to LAS courses offered both online and on-ground
    • Serve as an active, participating member of the national AD-LAS workgroup
    • Establish a campus Safety Committee and serve as the Chair
    • Order and inventories all required equipment and supplies for science classes
    • Maintain science classroom and preparation facilities
    • Solicit recommendations from LAS faculty for academic budget
    • Ensure regular meetings of LAS faculty to facilitate communication and participation in planning, implementing and evaluation of the curriculum
    • Communicates with academic committees (national or campus) to ensure appropriate goals and projects are implemented
    • Monitor and advance student success
    • Ensure LAS faculty maintain two hours/week/course of tutoring on campus
    • Supervise LAS faculty and provide appropriate mentoring, coaching and feedback regarding performance
    • Conduct annual individual performance evaluation of the faculty
    • Initiates recruitment, selection, orientation and onboarding of LAS faculty
    • Ensure LAS classes adhere to the scheduling requirements of the campus within the established budgetary parameters
    • Ensure curricula are current and consistently delivered in an environment and manner that achieves superior student outcomes
    • Share feedback on course objectives and content - gained from students, faculty, and other staff members - with appropriate leadership for quality improvement of the curriculum
    • Ensure meaningful assessment of student achievement, e.g., exams, projects, cases, occurs at the end of each course and for continuous course improvement that meet course objectives
    • Complete other duties as assigned

    • Master’s degree, Doctorate preferred (from regionally accredited institution) in a natural science discipline
    • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching Sciences at the Bachelor level or above
    • Previous academic leadership experience preferred
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to interact with all levels: Student, faculty and staff
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Ability to lead, direct and supervise faculty
